Our Story
Advanced Driving Academy was established in 2015 by David Watt and Jim Thompson. Between them, David and Jim have over 50 years of experience in training drivers of all skill levels. Over the years, they have gained and developed their knowledge, to become amongst the most experienced driver trainers in the UK. They have delivered training both here in the UK and internationally, to several businesses, operating in a variety of sectors. This training has helped the businesses that they have worked to develop a strong culture of safety and save thousands of pounds each year.
Our Passion For Driver Training
With the number of road users and incidents rising in tandem, they recognised the need for high-quality driver training. This saw the creation of our sister company Pass Drive Ltd in 2009. Pass Drive was established by David to help promote safe and responsible driving practices and limit the number of incidents on UK roads. Over the years, Pass Drive has helped thousands of learner drivers achieve their full UK driving licences, promoting a culture of safe and responsible driving.
Following the creation and success of Pass Drive, David and Jim identified that there was a unique risk to individuals driving for work purposes. Statistics show that 1 in 3 road traffic incidents in the UK involves individuals driving for work. This is at an average cost of £6000 per year for businesses, before considering the potential loss of custom through vehicles and drivers being off the road. Having identified the high risk to those driving for work, David and Jim created Advanced Driving Academy to help deliver cost-effective driver training solutions to business across the UK.
This has seen us grow from strength to strength since our inception. We’ve helped our clients create a culture of safety within their work environment by providing their employees with high-quality driver training. We understand that the needs of our clients and businesses vary, hence why we deliver a bespoke and tailored service. All of the training we deliver focuses on developing your employees driving skills and ability to encourage safer driving techniques and better use of vehicle controls.
